Over 15 years of active life science investing, HealthCap has continuously been adaptive and adjusted and fine-tuned its investment strategy in line with the Firm’s investing experience and the developments in the industry environment.		We focus mainly on companies within therapeutics (defined as drugs, biologics, vaccines or medical devices with a therapeutic application). The primary strategy is to invest in and create de-risked growth opportunities with capital efficient business models that enable sustainable companies and offer clear roadmaps to significant value events. We seek active partnership with portfolio companies and founders and generally act as the lead or co-lead investor. We engage in building the company by joining the board and assisting with strategy formulation in the areas of science, clinical and business development and finance. We have a track record of providing experienced management, directors and advisors to our portfolio companies from our networks. We encourage substantial ownership by entrepreneurs and scientific founders and also insist on the implementation of employee equity ownership programs to attract and reward key personnel.
